November 23, 2009
Sigma Theta Epsilon, a Christian service fraternity at Mount U
nion, hosted the annual Thanksgiving Community Meal in partnership the College’s Office of Service-Learning and Community Service and the Salvation Army on Saturday, November 21.
Over 30 volunteers from the College including members from Sigma Theta Epsilon, the AmeriCorps MC3 program, Super Service Saturdays and faculty and staff members helped prepare and serve the Thanksgiving meal to more than 100 people.
“I was very pleased with this year’s turnout,” said Jeremy Evans ’11, a political science major of Garrettsville. He initiated the meal last year and now serves as a student member on the Salvation Army board. “I was proud to help with this great event for the community because it provides an opportunity for socializing and a free home cooked meal.”
