Toy Drive at Mount Union College a Great Success
April 06, 2010
The Mount Union College Support Staff Advisory Council (SSAC) organized the Alliance Firefighters' Toy Drive effort on campus for the second year.
The Alliance Fire Department conducts the toy drive each year for children in the Alliance area. Faculty and staff were encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys for children ages ten and below to drop-off points throughout campus.
SSAC collected and delivered 389 toys and $130 to the Alliance Fire Department. The toys were distributed on Saturday, December 8 to qualifying families in the Alliance community. The firemen reported that they identified 423 children who will benefit from the generosity of the Mount Union community.
'The items given by Mount Union faculty and staff will make it possible for every child on the list to have a nice Christmas,' said Jan Behner, SSAC Chairman. 'We had a fantastic response and are looking forward to doing it again next year.'
