I think Mount Union is different because of the relationship between the students and the faculty. I feel very comfortable asking any professor for help and it is especially nice when a professor, outside of class, calls me by my name.

MY EXCEPTIONAL STORY

By Word of Mouth
From my cousin’s experience, she talked about all the ways Mount Union could help me take different paths such as internships, connections and graduate school, which helped convince me I could go to Mount Union and make a difference. I am the first member of my immediate family to go to college to earn a four-year degree. When I came here for my tour with my mom, everything was fairly personal I fell in love with that welcome feeling of a small, private university,

A Love for Problem Solving
I have learned that calculus and other types of math can actually be used in real life. In high school, while learning calculus, my friends and I always questioned whether we really needed this in life and now I can say you do. That aspect makes going to class have more meaning. By being in math and computer classes here, I have learned to work with different computer programs to solve problems. It is difficult at times, but when it’s all done and working properly, it is the best feeling of accomplishment.

A Comfortable Setting
I think Mount Union is different because of the relationship between the students and the faculty. I feel very comfortable asking any professor for help and it is especially nice when a professor, outside of class, calls me by my name. My largest class was about 35 students and for some other colleges, that is considered a tiny class size.

Exploring Classes
Business 100, Introduction to Business with Mike Kachilla was one of my favorite classes, because it explored all the different sides of business. Even though my major seems to focus more on finance and math, BUS 100 also looked at marketing and that is a side of business that I had never really knew about.

An Ultimate Dream Career
My ultimate career goal is to work for a very well-known and trusted company in the insurance field or similar to, where I will be involved with finance and statistics. My dream is to move up at a company to where I can manage people. I am striving at college to learn as much as I can so that I can make this happen.
