Trumpet and Saxophone Ensembles to Perform

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The University of Mount Union’s student trumpet and saxophone ensembles will perform at 7:30 p.m. on April 7 in the Presser Recital Hall of the Cope Music Hall. 

The trumpet ensemble is directed by trumpet lecturer Michael Willard and will perform pieces from composers including Claudio Monteverdi, Duke Ellington and Hoagy Carmichael. 

The saxophone ensemble is directed by saxophone lecturer Patricia Olsson and will perform pieces from composers including John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Freddie Mercury.

Students performing include sophomore early childhood education major Lindsay Bonam of Salineville, Ohio on the trumpet; junior history major Leon Kimmelfield of Shaker Heights, Ohio on the tenor saxophone; freshman theatre major Savannah Morris of Lisbon, Ohio on the trumpet; senior international studies and Japanese major Kevin Princic of Stow, Ohio on the soprano and alto saxophone; sophomore music education major Jesse Reed of Diamond, Ohio on the alto saxophone and freshman Kyle Shepard of Perry, Ohio on the baritone saxophone.
