Trumpeter Gary Davis to Perform at Mount Union College

The Mount Union College Department of Music will present trumpeter Gary Davis on Tuesday, October 4 in Presser Recital Hall at 8 p.m.
Davis, a trumpeter in the Akron Symphony Orchestra, is also the principal trumpeter in the Cleveland Pops Orchestra. A graduate of The University of Akron as well as the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, he is now working toward his doctoral degree in musical arts at the Eastman School of Music. Davis is currently an adjunct professor of trumpet at MercyhurstCollege in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Davis has played with many different orchestras and symphonies including The Cleveland Opera Orchestra and The Cleveland Chamber Symphony. He has also performed for numerous musicals at Playhouse Square in Cleveland.
His program will include the works Legend by George Enesco; Sonata for Trumpet and Piano by Eric Ewazen; Night Songs by Richard Peaslee; Etude No. 2 by Theo Charlier; and Fantasia by Pascal Proust. He will be accompanied by pianist Kim Bakkum.
