For the 19 consecutive year, the University of Mount Union has again been favorably ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of America’s Best Colleges, being listed in the top tier of the Best National Liberal Arts Colleges in the 2010 rankings.
Inclusion in the first tier places Mount Union in a class with other esteemed national institutions including Williams College and Amherst College in Massachusetts; Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania; and Grinnell College in Iowa. Fellow Ohio institutions listed in this most prestigious tier include Oberlin College, Kenyon College, Denison University, Wittenberg University, College of Wooster and Hiram College.
“To be ranked in the National Liberal Arts category among some of the most prestigious and renowned college and universities in the country is quite an accomplishment,” said Dr. Richard F. Giese, president of the University. “We are pleased to be recognized at this level of distinction and delighted to make the move into the top tier.”
After 16 consecutive years of being ranked in the Top 15 in the Midwest among regional comprehensive or liberal arts colleges, Mount Union was promoted to the “Best National Liberal Arts Colleges” category in 2007.
