National Recognitions

Mount Union has consistently fared well in national rankings, appearing in U.S. News and World Report’s annual listing of the best colleges and universities for 21 consecutive years.  This year, Mount Union was ranked among the top dozen regional colleges in the Midwest, which includes the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Mount Union was ranked among America’s top 650 colleges and universities in a report released by Forbes and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity (CCAP).  The University was chosen out of a pool of 2,774 private and public colleges and universities nationally, which are identified by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics.

Washington Monthly has ranked the University of Mount Union among the top 75 baccalaureate colleges and universities in the nation in its 2012 rankings. Mount Union is ranked 60th among the 352 institutions that Washington Monthly included in the category. This ranking measures how colleges and universities are meeting public obligations with regard to research, service and social mobility.

Other recent national recognitions include inclusion in the Princeton Review’s Guide to 322 Green Colleges and receipt of a bronze rating from the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS), making it the first institution in Ohio to receive a STARS rating. Also, for the seventh consecutive year, the University of Mount Union has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for exemplary service efforts and service to America’s communities.
