University of Mount Union Announces 2016 Homecoming Court

ALLIACE, Ohio – The University of Mount Union has announced the members of the 2016 Homecoming Court.

Members of the Homecoming Court and candidates for Homecoming Queen and King include Amy Achenbach, Taylor Affolter, Caelyn Eppler, Aubree LaForce, Leandra Reed, Tim Anderson, Andrew Bertagnolli, Noah Hiles, Clinton Simmons and Grant Slack. These candidates will be voted on by their peersand King and Queen will be crowned during halftime of the October 8 Homecoming football game.

Achenbach, a history and French major from Butler, Pennsylvania, is president of the Delta Pi sorority, a member of the Raider Programming board and the Mount Union Players and a serves as a Raider Guide. 

Affolter, a nursing major and psychology minor from New Philadelphia, Ohio, is a member of Delta Sigma Tau and serves as an Exceptional Beginnings Coordinator. She is also President of the Student Nursing Organization on campus.   

Eppler, a music education major from Mentor, Ohio, is a member of Alpha Delta Pi, Student Senate, the Mount Union Concert Choir and Cantus Femina. She also serves as an Exceptional Beginnings Student Coordinator.

LaForce, a biochemistry major minoring in biology from Vermillion, Ohio, is President and Found of Mount Union’s “Love Your Melon” Organization, a member of Alpha Delta Pi and the university Honors Program. She also serves on Student Senate, as an Alliance Hospital Health Coach, and with Miller Lab Cancer Research.

Reed, a biology major with psychology and chemistry minors from St. Clairsville, Ohio, is the President of Pre-Physician Assistant Students, a member and co-sunshine chair of Alpha Pi Omega, a member of Edge Bible Study and a violinist in Alliance Symphony Orchestra and Repertory Strings.  

Anderson, a marketing major of North Royalton, Ohio, is a member of Phi Kappa Tau, a coordinator for both Preview and the Exceptional Beginnings program, a member of the American Marketing Association and the Mount Union Concert Choir. He also participates in five intermural sports teams on campus.

Bertagnolli, an early childhood and psychology double major from Eastlake, Ohio, is the President of Sigma Nu and serves as a Raider Guide, a Kappa Delta Pi, and Order of Omega.

Hiles, a communications major with a minor in sports business from Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, is the Sports Director for the campus radio station (WRMU), a member of Sigma Nu and coordinator for the Greek Membership Academy. 

Simmons, a political science major and legal studies and international affairs double minor from Lorain, Ohio, is an Exceptional Beginnings Coordinator, a member of Phi Kappa Tau, on the Student Senate Executive Board and serves as a Preview Guide.  

Slack, a pre-med biochemistry major from New Concord, Ohio, is a member of the men’s track team, an undergraduate researcher, president and founding member of the Inter-Science Research Club and a health coach at Alliance Community Hospital.
