University of Mount Union Announces LINC Speakers

ALLIANCE, Ohio — The University of Mount Union has announced speakers for the 2012 fall LINC luncheon series.
LINC (lunch, information, networking and conversation) luncheons are scheduled for the fourth Tuesday of the month in September, October, November, January, February and March at the Hoover-Price Campus Center of Mount Union. The events, which are open to the public, include lunch, discussion on a current topic with one of Mount Union’s faculty members and a chance to interact with members of the University and greater Alliance community.
Speakers for the fall sessions are as follows:
September 25 — Dr. Scott Mason, professor of chemistry: “Winning the Next Millennium: Science Education in the 21st Century”
October 23 — Dr. Govind Shanadi, assistant professor of communication: “Do You Believe What They Are Saying? (November 6 is Near)”
November 27 — Dr. Nezam Al-Nsair, director of nursing: “Making Sense of Health Reform”
Cost for each individual lunch is $10. The best value is a season pass, which can be purchased for $50. Purchase of a half season of full six-season pass guarantees a spot. Payment is also accepted at the door. Lunch begins at noon, the program will begin at 12:20 p.m. and the event will conclude by 1 p.m.
The community luncheon series was conceived to take advantage of the local expertise from Mount Union’s faculty and staff that exist in Alliance in light of Mount Union’s exceptional academic reputation.
