When I graduated from high school, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field. I was interested in becoming a medical technologist, and heard that Mount Union had an outstanding medical technology program.
Value of a Mount Union Education
At Mount Union, we provide an exceptional experience that has been recognized for its combination of benefit and value. In fact, Mount Union was recently ranked #1 in the Great Lakes Region for return on investment by collegefactual.com, which, according to its website, identifies those colleges and universities that “offer the best bang for your buck – delivering quality education and economic value.” The Great Lakes Region includes the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.
What’s equally impressive is the percentage of our students who succeed immediately following graduation. Among members of the 2012 graduating class, 98% of those self reporting started a degree-required career or were accepted to graduate school, all in an average of 20 days after graduation.
Our rankings and graduate successes clearly illustrate that a Mount Union education is a proven investment in your future. We pride ourselves on providing students with the academic preparation, hands-on experience and global perspective necessary to stay competitive in a fast-paced world.
The Best of Both Worlds
In today’s society, a college degree is a necessity for those hoping to get ahead in the world. In fact, statistics show that those with bachelor’s degrees can expect, on average, to earn $1.2 million more over the span of their adult working lives than those with high school degrees alone (Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workplace). At the same time, employers desire more than just a degree. They value an education that arms students with the ability to communicate effectively, think critically and creatively, solve problems and work collaboratively in a team environment (American Association of Colleges and Universities).
A University of Mount Union education is uniquely structured to meet these demands. Our education provides the best of both worlds – an academic curriculum that’s grounded in the liberal arts tradition and emboldened by market-smart, career-savvy options. Simply put, you will be primed for success in the 21st century.
A Proven Investment in Your Future
Providing a personal, practical and pertinent education that is a proven investment in your future is what we do at the University of Mount Union. The success and satisfaction of our students, alumni and parents clearly illustrates that we are making good on this promise.
- They love their experience… Survey results indicate that our current students’ level of satisfaction with Mount Union is significantly better than national averages for other four-year private institutions, and 95% of our alumni are pleased with their Mount Union educations as well.

And others agree. For 23 consecutive years, Mount Union has been recognized as a top university by U.S. News & World Report. In addition, the University also has been recently cited by Forbes, Washington Monthly and The Princeton Review’s Green Guide, in addition to garnering other national recognitions.
