Volunteers Needed for Day of Service

ALLIANCE, Ohio — The University of Mount Union’s Regula Center for Public Service and Civic Engagement is seeking volunteers for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, January 21.
Volunteers will begin checking in at 8:30 a.m. at Campus Grounds in the Hoover-Price Campus Center. Groups will then travel to destinations throughout Alliance and on campus for work assignments, which will end at noon.
Locations for the Day of Service include Alchemy Acres, Alliance Area Domestic Violence Shelter, Men’s Challenge of Alliance, Alliance Neighborhood Center, Altercare, Canterbury Villa, Feed My Sheep Ministries, Interfaith Childcare, Copeland Oaks, Alliance YWCA/Meals on Wheels, United Way, McCrea Maor, Sterling House, Alliance and Canton Goodwills, Salem Restore, Beechcreek Botanical Garden, Alliance Community Pantry, Alliance for Children and Families, Roselawn Terrace Nursing Home, Alliance YMCA, Union Avenue Day Care, Black History Museum, Salem Habitat for Humanity and Rodman Public Library.
All participants will be given lunch in Campus Grounds following the event and free T-shirts will be provided to those who sign up first.
