ALLIANCE, Ohio - Mount Union College has several activities planned for the weekend as faculty, staff and graduating seniors get ready to celebrate the College's 155th Commencement.

Kicking off the weekend on Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. in Crandall Gallery will be the Retirement Reception. This event will honor long-time Mount Union professors Dr. Faye Hollaway, professor of chemistry, Dr. Lewis Phelps, professor of music, and Dr. Angela Zumbar, professor of Spanish, who will be retiring following Commencement.

Following the reception will be the Commencement Concert, which is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. in Rodman Theatre.

On Sunday morning, Baccalaureate will begin at 10 a.m. in Timken Gymnasium. This event will feature Rev. Dr. Kenneth Chalker as guest speaker. Chalker, a 1971 graduate of Mount Union and member of the College's Board of Trustees since 1992, is former pastor of the Union Avenue United Methodist Church in Alliance and is currently serving as pastor of First United Methodist Church in Cleveland.

At 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Mount Union will begin its 155th Commencement Ceremonial Procession into Timken Gymnasium. Featured speaker for this year's Commencement is Brian Stafford, a 1969 graduate of Mount Union and Director of the United States Secret Service.
