What to Expect of the Day of your Interview
ARRIVAL: The interviews will take no longer than 20 minutes
PARKING: Lots are available west of Cope Music Hall or east across Union Avenue (S.R. 183). In addition, some street parking is available along Vincent Street on the north side of the building or on Simpson Street along the south.
There are handicapped accessible entrances off Vincent Street and through the west entrance to the building from the parking lot. Coat racks are available along the main hall near Presser Recital Hall.
REQUIREMENTS: Actors will perform a one-minute monologue from a contemporary playwright for the members of the theatre faculty followed by a brief interview.
Designers and theatre technologists will present a portfolio of work for review by the theatre faculty followed by a brief interview.
Students may present as both a performer and design/tech.
PRACTICE ROOMS: The music department has individual practice rooms located in Cope Music Hall. Limited warm-up time is provided in your personal schedule. You are welcome to use these facilities on audition day.
PARENTS: We welcome your attendance on audition days. You are invited to be present at the audition with your child’s consent, tour the facilities and to meet with the theatre faculty afterwards.
HOSPITALITY: Parents and students are invited to the lobby of Cope Music Hall where refreshments will be available.
ACCOMPANISTS: You may bring your own accompanist, or accompany yourself. Accompanists are available through Mount Union. For more information, contact Jean Dalesandro, department secretary at (330) 823-3860.
