Women’s History Month Keynote Address Cancelled

The Women’s History Month keynote address by Susan Douglas, scheduled for Wednesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. in the Mount Union Theatre, has been cancelled. Douglas is unable to get to Alliance due to weather-related flight cancellations. Every effort will be made to reschedule the event.
Douglas is a prize-winning author, columnist, cultural critic and professor of communication studies at the University of Michigan. She also is the author of numerous books including Where the Girls Are, The Mommy Myth: The Idealization of Motherhood, How it Undermines Women (with Meredith Michaels, The Free Press, 2004) and Enlightened Sexism: The Seductive Message That Feminism’s Work Is Done. She has lectured at colleges and universities around the country, and has appeared on The Today Show, The CBS Early Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show, among others.
