Workshops Offered to Prepare Students for Science Day and Engineering Fair

Science research project workshops for students grades 7 ' 12 who are preparing for the District Science Day and Regional Engineering Fair will be offered at GlenOak Career Center and Mount Union College throughout the next few months.
Students who would like help preparing for the Ohio District 13 Science Day and Ohio Region XIII Science and Engineering Fair, to be held at Mount Union College on March 19, 2005, are welcome to attend these workshops designed to help students with all aspects of research project design and presentation. Parents and teachers are also welcome to attend.
The topics to be covered include: choosing a topic, background information research, designing a research plan, experimental design, collecting and organizing data, analyzing and interpreting results, writing research reports, display do's and don'ts, presentation of project and completing forms.
The workshops will be facilitated by Dr. Jeremy Ervin, assistant professor of education at Mount Union College, Tina Johnson, academic coach at Mount Union and Charleen Race, academic outreach coordinator at Mount Union.
The workshops will be held at the GlenOak Career Center on November 2 and 16, December 7 and January 11 from 4:30 - 6 p.m. Workshops will be held at Mount Union College on November 4 and 18, December 9 and January 13 from 4 - 6 p.m. The GlenOak Career Center is located at 2300 Schneider NE in North Canton. The workshops held at Mount Union College, in Alliance, will be in Bracy Hall.
