Brooke Benner
I am a junior majoring in biology with a double minor in chemistry and exercise science. I have experience in formatting lab reports for both chemistry and biology courses and also some background in research papers and creative writing. My favorite parts of the writing process are brainstorming and organization because that is when the writer can show their personality.  I run for the cross country and track teams when I’m not working at the Writing Center. I love to learn about new things, so feel free to visit me about any type of paper!  Hope to see you soon!

Bevin Blake
I am a senior biology and psychology double major with a minor in Spanish. I have lots of experience with APA formatting, lab reports for biology, chemistry, and psychology, and a solid background with both analytical (such as research papers) and creative writing. I also can help with papers or written assignments that are in Spanish, as I can both read and write the language. Outside of the Writing Center, I entertain myself by pole vaulting for the Mount Union track and field team and by volunteering my time in Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. I also use my passion for writing by irregularly posting highly opinionated and somewhat irrelevant pages to my blog. I love learning and truly enjoy helping fellow students fulfill their potential as successful collegiate level writers!

Anna Brocker
I am a sophomore accounting major with a minor in Business Administration. While some might think that “math people” like me would not know about writing, I am proof this is not true. I am glad to help anyone at any stage of the writing process. From the very early stages of brainstorming to the final draft, I believe all steps are equally important to an excellent paper. I hope to see you soon!

I am a senior psychology major with a minor in English.  Since I am a psychology major, I am very experienced with writing lab reports and using APA format, but because of my English minor, I’ve had a lot of experience with many various types of writing and formatting.  My favorite things to do in my spare time are working out and eating ice cream.  I love working with people and I’m comfortable working with you at any stage of the writing process!

Hayley Buzulencia
I am a sophomore public health and environmental science major.  I have experience with lab reports, creative writing, speechwriting, and research papers.  Mount Union’s liberal arts curriculum has allowed me to try everything once. I have a flair for argumentative writing because I love to think critically and work on multiple perspectives.  I also really like working on style because it’s fun.  Words are my favorite things…I read the dictionary and thesaurus for fun!  I love love love to run, but the Writing Center is one of few places you’ll find me sitting still—can’t wait for your appointment!

I’m a Sophomore English major/writing minor. I love pretty much anything related to the humanities: art, music, philosophy, religion.  Not sure what I plan to do with my degree yet but I’m considering editing or publishing.  My favorite parts of the writing process are brainstorming, and working on argument, logic and structure—basically making a paper say what the writer is really trying to say.  I love writing, and I love seeing others enjoy the process as well. I’m looking forward to helping students leave the Center feeling confident in their paper.

Tyler Lowe
I am a junior psychology and religious studies major with a minor in sociology.  I would like to work in a school one day, so I am comfortable with one-on-one help.  If you need help with speeches, outlines, papers, or even help getting started on an assignment, then come to me.  I am especially good at outlining and brainstorming ideas.  I like to run, listen to music and be adventurous!  Stop in for help, to talk or if you want a mint.

I am a junior psychology major with a minor in intervention specialist. I plan on becoming a school psychologist one day, therefore; I find myself comfortable in one-on-one settings. I spend a lot of my time as an assistant high school football coach outside of the time that I spend in the Writing Center. I enjoy the overall writing process and working on getting a paper to reflect my strengths as a writer. I hope to help you do the same! Stop in anytime if you need help or if you would just like to talk anything psychology/sports related because I’m all ears! Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Rachel O’Connor
I am a junior majoring in Japanese and early childhood education.  I spend most of my time studying for my next Japanese exam or planning lessons for K-3 students.   I am an avid Harry Potter fan and am the co-founder of Mount’s intramural Quidditch team.   As for writing, I love working on papers no matter what stage it is at.   As an education major, I love helping people in any way I can.  Writing has also always been one of my favorite ways of expressing what I feel or have learned so I am really excited to be working at the Writing Center.   I hope to see you soon!

I am a sophomore history major with an interest in philosophy, psychology, and English literature. I am very familiar footnotes (the format for history) and MLA, but also can help with APA.  I really enjoy going to museums and reading. Other than reading, I enjoy writing, and that is what brought me to the Writing Center to become a tutor. Writing was a struggle for me for a very long time, so I am very patient and helpful to those who too struggle. Don’t be afraid to stop by while I am working, I would love to help you in any way I can!

I’m a senior English major with a triple minor in music, Chinese, and French.  I am comfortable working on all stages of the writing process—from brainstorming to final revisions.  I have experience with papers analyzing music and music history in addition to English research papers, but I am qualified and comfortable working in any genre.  In my spare time I love to read and I love creative writing.  I hope to see you in the writing center soon!

I am a junior international studies and religious studies major with a minor in French. I am also an avid theater performer, so you may find me hanging around Rodman Theater. I have had experience writing a variety of different styles and enjoy tutoring in interactive ways. My strengths in the writing process are in brainstorming, organizing and structuring research papers and essays. I have also had experience writing literature reviews and theoretical and sometimes longer research papers. If you don’t want that assignment to drag on or just don’t know where to start, stop by the Writing Center and look me up!

I am a junior double majoring in Economics and Criminal Justice. I also have an English minor. I am comfortable working with APA format and citations, in addition to MLA. While I have the most experience with research-related papers and papers analyzing literature, I’m happy to help with any genre of writing. I am available to assist at any stage of the writing process — from brainstorming or setting up an idea to concerns a student may have about a final draft.

I am a senior communication major concentrating in public relations and double minoring in English and philosophy. I have experience with professional documents such as resumes and cover letters, and I’m also knowledgeable when it comes to MLA, APA and Chicago-style citations. My interest in journalism has helped me gain experience in AP style writing, and I am also fond of brainstorming sessions while tutoring.

I am a senior psychology major and a sociology and English double minor. After Mount, I plan on attending graduate school for a master’s degree in higher education administration. I am a diehard Indians and Browns fan, and I thoroughly enjoy losing a part of my soul every time they take the field. I am most familiar with APA formatting and psychology-related matters, but no matter what kind of work you bring in, I can help in every phase of the writing process. I look forward to seeing you soon.

Danielle Cordaro
I’m the director of the University of Mount Union Writing Center. I have a Ph.D. in English with a specialization in rhetoric and composition from Purdue University. It is a privilege to work with tutors who are committed and passionate about helping peers tackle challenging writing projects. The most significant reward of my work as director is seeing students across our campus benefit from the hours of training and ongoing education that tutors receive. In addition to writing center work, I am an assistant professor in the English department and teach a variety of writing courses, including Writing and the Web; Style, Voice, Ethos; and Professional Writing. I am also a member of the Ohio Mushroom Society and enjoy collecting outsider art, hiking, biking, sunny days and sleeping in on weekends.
