Why Mount Union?
I choose Mount Union because I graduated from a local high school and it is close enough so that I can commute to school every day. The financial aid also made Mount Union a viable school for me.
The faculty are very welcoming and nice. I also worked in the University Scene Shop which allowed me to make friends on campus.
I choose environmental science because I was something that I was interested about in high school. My favorite class was Ecology because it was taught by Dr. McClaugherty who was an excellent professor. After I graduate I would like to be a professor and teach ecology. Mount Union has helped me get closer to this goal by helping me prepare for graduate school.
I was an intern at the Mahoning County Extension Office during the Fall 2016 semester. I am currently a student worker at the Huston-Brumbaugh Nature center. My job at the Nature Center prepares me for a future career working with the public and teaching them about the importance of the environment.
