Gallery Artist Reception

The University of Mount Union Sally Otto Art Gallery is hosting its first exhibit of 2019. “Making An Impression” featuring works by Phyllis Fannin, Kevin Hogan and Liz Maugans will be on display through February 22. An artists’ reception will be held on Thursday, January 31 from 4-6 p.m. with an artists’ talk taking place during the reception beginning at 4:40 p.m.

Fannin is graduate of Mount Union College with a Bachelor of Art and she earned her master’s from Kent State University. She also attended Baldwin Wallace College and the Cleveland Institute of Art. Fannin’s work has been displayed in many exhibits across the country including New York, California, Washington D.C. and internationally in Germany. She has worked for Baldwin Wallace College, the Cleveland Institute of Art and the Lakewood Board of Education.  Fannin lives in Lakewood, Ohio.

Hogan, who currently lives in Asheville, North Carolina, attended Cooper School of Art in Cleveland and Kent State University. He was instrumental in founding SPACES and helped to co-found Square Zero, the first arts space in Asheville, North Carolina. Hogan has also been on the board of trustees at Ashville Art Museum and the North Carolina Glass Center.

Maugans earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking from Kent State University and her master’s degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art. She is currently the director of YARDS Projects and teaches printmaking and drawing at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Maugans is the co-founder and Former Executive Director of Zygote Press, a non-profit printmaking studio in Cleveland. She has also participated in and founded various art organizations across Northeast Ohio. Maugans resides in Bay Village, Ohio.
