Visiting Artist Series Performance: “Love Letters” starring Priscilla Barnes and Perry King
The University of Mount Union is pleased to announce its first event in the Visiting Artist Series, a theatre “pro-formance” of the play, Love Letters, September 12-13, 2019 featuring Perry King and Priscilla Barnes.
The Visiting Artist Series aims to bring artists and students together in a working relationship. Through the generosity of Perry and Maxwell King and others, the Department of Theatre will welcome an artist to work alongside students on campus once a year.
“This is yet another way that the arts at Mount Union have proven themselves to be vibrant, relevant, and critical to the mission of the University, and we are eternally grateful to our donors for making this happen,” said Kevin Kern, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Theatre.
Love Letters was written by A.R. Gurney and premiered in 1988 at the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut before opening on Broadway in 1989. Love Letters follows two characters, Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III as they read through notes, letters and cards written to each other, over nearly 50 years.
All performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Brush Performance Hall in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and veterans and can be purchased by calling the Mount Union box office at (330) 821-2565, or online at www.mountunion.edu/boxoffice.Add to Calendar Thursday, September 12, 2019 Event Type Contact Kevin Kern email@example.com Department Theatre Department
