Pi Kappa Lambda to Present Faculty Artist Showcase

ALLIANCE, OH – The Theta Omicron chapter of the national Society of Pi Kappa Lambda will host a Faculty Artist Showcase at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 30 in the Presser Recital Hall located in Cope Music Hall at the University of Mount Union.

The program for the showcase will include musical works by composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Philipp Telemann, Franz Schubert, Adre Massager, Madeleine Dring, Johann Cruger and Georgia Stitt.

Performing on the faculty showcase will be Maira Liliestedt, piano; Bohdan Subchak, violin; Amanda-Joyce Abbott, soprano; Willow DiGiacomo, clarinet;  Raquel Teare, piano; Brent Schloneger, piano; Janet Becker, flute; Betty Shultz, oboe; Jeff Neitzke, double second steel pans; Nancy Howenstein, organ; Ryan Bergeron, tenor; Dean Newton, guitar; James Perone, alto saxophone; David Duro, trumpet and Janelle Phinney, piano.  

Pi Kappa Lambda, the only college honor society in music, was admitted into the Association of College Honor Societies in 1940 and now has more than 205 active chapters. Since its chartering on April 29, 1997, the Theta Omicron chapter at the University of Mount Union has dedicated its time and resources to fostering scholarly interest in the theoretical and historical aspects of music, and the pursuit of achievement in performance, composition, music education and research.

The faculty showcase is free and open to the public. Presser Recital Hall is located within Cope Music Hall on the corner of Union Avenue and Simpson Street on Mount Union’s campus.
