Finding Mount Union
I heard about Mount Union through a friend that visited and raved about it to me. I took it upon myself to visit and fell in love right away. The campus was breath taking and everyone we passed on tour seemed to know each other. I loved the small college feel and how connected everyone seemed. I was thankful to receive the Dean’s Scholarship to attend Mount Union. Additionally, the small class sizes grabbed my attention because I thrive in a one-on-one setting.
A Second Home
Mount Union feels like a second home because everywhere I go, there is a smiling face of someone I know. I can always find someone to talk to in every setting, inside and outside of the classroom. Mount Union has become my true second home and I am in love with the campus, staff, and friends I have made during my time here. I would tell high school students who are looking at college to be open mentally and emotionally because you never know who you could meet that could change your life.
I am currently in a mentoring program at Hannah’s House 119, which is an opportunity I got through Mount Union. This experience has offered me hands-on experience in a field I hope to go into. I chose human development and family sciences as my major because I always loved helping people and thought this was a great avenue for my passion. Once I got into the program, I fell in love with the professors and content of the courses. I feel that I will be a well-rounded individual after graduation due to the different courses I have taken. I am knowledgeable in multiple fields due to the Integrative Core. My ultimate career goal is to get my master’s degree in clinical counseling, begin working in the field, then get my Ph.D. and open my own practice. Mount Union has prepared me for this by pushing me through challenging courses to show my resilience and academic abilities.
