Dear Friends,
As we begin work on our second decade, we have had time to reflect on the successes and failures of our past. While we’ve stumbled, we think our triumphs far outweighed our tragedies. When we began with our first production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream we had no way of knowing if the audiences would come, if we could sustain a professional theatre in Alliance, or if we’d be around long enough to make a mark on this community. We now know the answer.
Last year, 900 patrons joined us to hear and see the story of Much Ado About Nothing. You sat side by side with neighbors, friends, family, and total strangers, and laughed as one; what a remarkable experience live theatre can provide.
If you’ve been to our productions before, then you know that our shows are perfect for the family. If you’re new to Shakespeare At The Castle, you’ll understand why our audiences tell us that our performances are perfect for Shakespeare fans, as well as those who have had less experience with the Bard’s work.
This summer we’ll offer the classic tale of the love and the capriciousness of youth – Romeo & Juliet. It’s a story you may think you know, but in this production, you’ll discover far more than you thought you knew about this timeless story. It plays July 25-28, and August 1-4. Tickets will be available for purchase on June 25.
While we’re excited to tell this story to a new audience, we appreciate our regulars, our friends who join us year after year. We look forward to seeing you under the stars.
