MY EXCEPTIONAL STORY
I've lived in Alliance my whole life. I knew I wanted to stay close to home when I started my college search, and I realized that Mount Union was the perfect fit for me. The academics are strong and there is plenty to get involved in on campus. Not to mention, the campus is amazing.
When I heard about the Investment Alliance Scholarship Program, I didn't believe it at first. I had already chosen to attend Mount Union and finding out about the scholarship just seemed to be too good to be true. I never thought that I would receive a full-tuition scholarship and finding that out just made me that much happier to be attending a university that gives so many local kids an opportunity like this.
All the professors are really nice and it is easy to tell that they are all very passionate about the subjects they teach.
Love for Writing
I have always loved to write and I want to make it my career. I chose to major in writing at Mount Union because I want to learn the techniques necessary to make my writing stronger.
I really like the North Reading Room in KHIC. It's really quiet and I do most of my studying up there. It's a great place to hang out if you just need peace and quiet.
Taking Pride in Your Community
Alliance is a small town but all the people that live in it, me included, take pride in it. People support the local sports teams as well as help out each other with many of the local charities.
Creating Stories for a Living
I want to be a young adult author, although I haven't decided what genre. I love being able to create stories that will allow other people to escape to someplace different. I want to be the person to create the stories that impact people in a way that makes them fall in love with the characters and storyline in the same way that I have with so many of the books that I have read. To create the stories for teenagers to read and enjoy would be like paying it forward for all the amazing books that I have read and fallen in love with over the years.
