Mount Union is more concerned with quality and their students well-being than they are with profit. This is extremely important, especially in a fully online program. We have some of the most engaging faculty of any MEd program. The online modality is no barrier for them to get to know their students and to make sure each student has what they need.
Choosing Education
I love education and believe that it not only can help someone to find employment but can help them to live a better more enriching and full life. I believe in the intentional use of technology and pedagogy to create educational experiences for students that are individualized. Individualized learning and meeting students where they are at is my goal.
Favorite Part of Your Job?
I am happiest when I hear from faculty that students enjoyed the design of their courses or that the implementation of some kind of learning theory or educational technology allowed a faculty member to improve an educational experience and help students to master the content. As director and [adjunct] professor, I am on the Quality Matters Ohio Executive Board. I am the Quality Matters Coordinator at UMU, I am also the Course Review Manager and a Peer Reviewer for Quality Matters.
