Scholarships

Undergraduate students transferring to Mount Union from Notre Dame College will receive a financial aid offer that is equal to the net price they currently pay at Notre Dame College. The calculated net price will exclude all athletic scholarships. The student must be full-time (12 credit hours) to remain eligible.

0 – 29 Credit Hours Earned and 1-2 Semesters Completed

• First Year Seminar (FYS) waived; Complete Transfer Seminar (TRF)
• Raider Foundation Portfolio waived if completed EN 101, CA 100, and at least two transferrable Foundations course equivalents
• World Language Proficiency waived if completed Theology (TH) course
• Mathematics Proficiency waived if completed MA 120 or higher, ACT/SAT scores, or mathematics placement
• Foundation Courses – Humanities, Fine Arts, Natural Science, and Social Science (HANS) waived with granted transfer equivalencies
• Commitment of 6-7 Semesters to complete at Mount Union*
• Must complete at least 16 hours in a major at Mount Union and 8 hours in a minor at Mount Union
• Must complete remaining Foundation courses, Explorations courses, and Capstone
• Additional credits and requirements waived at the discretion of the University Registrar

30-59 Credit Hours Earned and 3-4 Semesters Completed

• First Year Seminar (FYS) waived; Complete Transfer Seminar (TRF)
• Raider Foundation Portfolio waived if completed EN 101 and CA 100
• World Language Proficiency waived if completed Theology (TH) course
• Mathematics Proficiency waived if completed MA 120 or higher, ACT/SAT scores, or mathematics placement
• Foundation Courses – Humanities, Fine Arts, Natural Science, and Social Science (HANS) waived with granted transfer equivalencies
• Commitment of 4-5 Semesters to complete at Mount Union*
• Must complete at least 16 hours in a major at Mount Union and 8 hours in a minor at Mount Union

60-89 Credit Hours Earned and 5-6 Semesters Completed

• First Year Seminar (FYS) waived; Complete Transfer Seminar (TRF)
• Raider Foundation Portfolio waived if completed EN 101 and CA 100
• World Language Proficiency waived if completed Theology (TH) course
• Mathematics Proficiency waived if completed MA 120 or higher, ACT/SAT scores, or mathematics placement
• Foundation Courses – Humanities, Fine Arts, Natural Science, and Social Science (HANS) waived with granted transfer equivalencies
• Commitment of 2-3 Semesters to complete at Mount Union*
• Must complete at least 16 hours in a major at Mount Union and 8 hours in a minor at Mount Union
• Must complete Explorations courses and Capstone at Mount Union; Explorations courses may be waived with upper level transfer courses on a case-by-case basis
• Mount Union will waive the requirement that at least 48 semester hours be completed at Mount Union and that at least 32 semester hours of a degree program be pursued in residence at Mount Union.
• Additional credits and requirements waived at the discretion of the University Registrar

90 + Credit Hours Earned and 7 Semesters or More Completed

• First Year Seminar (FYS) waived; Complete Transfer Seminar (TRF)
• Raider Foundation Portfolio waived if completed EN 101 and CA 100
• World Language Proficiency waived if completed Theology (TH) course
• Mathematics Proficiency waived if completed MA 120 or higher, ACT/SAT scores, or mathematics placement
• Foundation Courses – Humanities, Fine Arts, Natural Science, and Social Science (HANS) waived with granted transfer equivalencies
• Commitment of 1-2 Semesters to complete at Mount Union*
• Must complete at least 12 hours in a major at Mount Union (with departmental approval) and 8 hours in a minor at Mount Union; minor courses completed at NDC may be reviewed to satisfy the minor requirement at Mount Union
• Must complete Capstone at Mount Union; Explorations courses may be waived with upper level transfer courses on a case-by-case basis
• Additional credits and requirements waived at the discretion of the University Registrar
• Students who have earned 90 or more credit hours will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Mount Union will waive the requirement that at least 48 semester hours be completed at Mount Union and that at least 32 semester hours of a degree program be pursued in residence at Mount Union.

*While Mount Union will do everything possible to keep any student from Notre Dame College on track to graduate in a total of 8 semesters (4 academic years) with semesters earned at NDC and UMU, some programs have course sequences that may extend this time. It is important that you speak with the University Registrar and your Admission Counselor to determine how many additional semesters it may take to complete your degree if you are in a program that requires sequential courses only offered in certain semesters and years.

Additional Notes for NDC Transferring Students

• Students who have earned an associate’s degree at Notre Dame College will not have to complete the following Integrative Core requirements: First Year Seminar, the four Foundation courses (HANS), or the Raider Foundations Portfolio. Students with an earned associate’s degree must complete the Explorations requirement, Capstone, and demonstrate proficiency in Mathematics and the World Languages by either proficiency/placement testing or transfer credit.
  • NDC students who are within a semester of earning an associate’s degree at NDC may receive the same waivers and exemptions listed above for those who have earned an associate’s degree after review from the UMU University Registrar.
    
    
• The waivers, transfers, and accommodations above are offered only to those students wishing to transfer from Notre Dame College and do not apply to students transferring from other institutions. The waivers, transfers, and accommodations above do not negate or override the University of Mount Union’s traditional transfer policy. The University of Mount Union, through authority granted to the University Registrar, may decline some or all of these waivers, transfers, and accommodations, and may also extend additional waivers, transfers, and accommodations on a case-by-case basis.
  
  
• Notre Dame College students must be active and enrolled students at NDC during the time of inquiry or within at least two semesters of leaving NDC. The University of Mount Union reserves the right to rescind any special waivers, transfers, and accommodations at any time.

Listed below is the Bachelor Degree Requirement Equivalency Map for Notre Dame College (NDC) and the University of Mount Union (UMU). In addition, a General Core Curriculum Transfer Equivalency Map has been provided to outline how NDC core requirements will be satisfied or waived for NDC students who transfer to UMU.

Scholarships

For Graduate students transferring to Mount Union from Notre Dame College, the net cost to complete courses will be the same or less than what the student would pay at Notre Dame College, excluding any athletic scholarships, if applicable.

For students transferring with previous work completed at the MBA level at Notre Dame College, the University of Mount Union will generally transfer up to 18 credits from Notre Dame College, but all transfer students from NDC will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if requesting to transfer in more than 18.

All transfer credits must have earned a grade of B or higher. Individual review will be completed by the MBA Program Director and certified by the University Registrar. Individual progression plans will be created by the MBA Program Director.

The MBA Program at Mount Union offers the following concentrations: Business Analytics, Leadership and Innovation, Strategic Healthcare Administration, and Corporate Communication and Public Relations.

Below are the transfer equivalencies from Notre Dame College to the University of Mount Union’s MBA program.

For students transferring with previous work completed at the M.Ed. level at Notre Dame College, the University of Mount Union will generally transfer up to 18 credits from Notre Dame College, but all transfer students from NDC will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if requesting to transfer in more than 18.
