Mark Price: Hometown:Parma, Ohio; Major:Geology; I think a geology major should have a natural curiosity about the earth and how it works. That person should also be open to learning new things as there are many areas that one could focus on in the major itself. Once you’re interested in the stuff you’re studying, learning the concepts becomes quite easy!

Kayla Hogue: Hometown:Massillon, Ohio; Major:Intervention Specialist; Stay focused, make goals and work toward achieving them. Also, become friends with others with the same major because it is really helpful to have friends that you can go to with questions. It makes it a lot easier when you can all work together to get things done. Just have the heart for what you want to do and you will succeed.

Major:Chemistry

Mount has exceptional Chemistry and Education departments. I feel that I am getting an outstanding education and will be well prepared for the real world. The only advice I have is to study hard and never be afraid to ask questions, or seek extra help outside of class. All subjects in college are fast paced. If you get too far behind it will be extremely hard to catch up. Successful students do their work and always come to class prepared and ready to listen.

I love Mount. I was told while visiting colleges that when I found the right school I would just know. I felt at home at Mount right away and still do. I love the people, the professors, the campus and the athletic program. I have made so many amazing friends and memories already; Mount is the perfect fit for me.

Katy Borland: Hometown:Carrollton, Ohio; Major:Childhood Education; Teaching middle school students may seem like one of the most intimidating careers out there, but I think it will ultimately be overwhelmingly rewarding. Make sure there is enough time during the week to meet observation requirements and do not be afraid to actively get involved. Take advantage of the shadow study days as well because this gives major insight into the lives of middle school students.

Samantha Rondini: Hometown:Solon, OH; Major:Exercise Science; Although the course load may at times seem rough, just keep pushing through it! Also, keep the goal of wanting to help others in mind and it may make the tough times a little easier!
