Why Mount Union?

When I first visited Mount Union, I fell in love with our picturesque campus and felt the friendliness of everyone I encountered. I knew I wanted to study abroad and be involved in music programs in college, and Mount Union offered both of those opportunities. Faculty and staff have helped me accomplish all of my goals throughout college, making the campus community one of the reasons why Mount makes me feel at home.

Impactful Experiences

As a junior I decided to study abroad in Montevideo, Uruguay through the University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) and although this was a challenging experience, I enjoyed every second of my time abroad. I found myself feeling homesick or experiencing culture shock, though living with a host family not only allowed me to immerse myself in the culture, but improve my Spanish skills significantly. While in Uruguay I also traveled to places in Argentina and Brazil. Another experience that Mount Union has given me is being a part of the Regula Center where I've worked at since a sophomore. I've gotten to learn a lot about the non-profit world and I find service quite rewarding. I've also worked at the Greater Alliance Foundation working alongside influential leaders, expanding my connections in the Alliance community.

Post-Graduation Plans

I chose to major in human resource management because it has a mix of law and a managerial viewpoint. Spanish, on the other hand allows me to expand my knowledge to become more marketable by challenging me to further the skills I gained in high school. However, after graduating from Mount Union, I'd like to attend law schoool to become an attorney. The opportunities I was given at Mount Union have prepared me to take the next steps to enhance both my academic and professional careers.
