Why Mount Union?

Already a biology undergraduate student and track and field athlete at Mount Union, I loved the experiences and opportunities I was offered. I loved making endless memories with friends and team members. I chose to further my education at Mount Union's PA program because it is outstanding and one of the best programs in the country. As my alma mater, it was only fitting to continue my education here. The professors at Mount Union are definitely one of the most significant factors that set its program apart from others. They put our education at a very high standard and give ample resources for students to utilize. There are multiple checkpoints throughout the semester that allow students to keep up with the rigorous schedule. I believe Mount’s program does a great job making sure the students truly understand the vast amount of material that’s given to us as aspiring physician assistants.

A Career in Medicine

I’ve always known that I wanted to work in the healthcare field because I grew up surrounded by medicine. It is something that is very interesting to me, and being able to help others is very rewarding. Both of my parents are physicians & my twin sister is currently a first year medical student, and working in the healthcare field with them has always been a life goal of mine. I start my clinical rotations in August, and this is something I am really looking forward to. I’m excited to take what I’ve learned the last few semesters and expand on it with a hands on experience.

Student-Athletic Career

Another reason I chose Mount Union’s program was to continue my athletic career as a track & field athlete. As a student-athlete, I've learned time management skills in and outside the classroom along with becoming more independent as a person. Being an athlete in a rigorous graduate program has forced me to be as efficient as possible, making sure I utilize every second I have. I am very organized and set myself up to perform my best on the track and in the classroom. I truly believe that having track as an outlet allows me to reset and clear my mind after a long day of class or studying. I am excited to see where my future goes as an athlete at Mount Union as well as a PA student!
