I chose to attend Mount Union because of the small class sizes and the one-on-one attention students receive from professors. At the University, you aren’t just a number. Professors really care about you and your progress in and outside of the classroom. They also are really approachable and personable.

Mathematics Major
Develop the ability to think critically and use mathematical reasoning to solve complex and everyday problems with a major in mathematics at Mount Union. As a student you will be challenged and engaged both inside and outside of the classroom through class projects, problem-solving seminars, internships, math games, research opportunities and math competitions.
Mathematics graduates have found success working for organizations including Progressive Insurance and Western Reserve Partners and serving as mathematics teachers at public and private school districts across the country.
Mathematics students also have pursued graduate studies at institutions across the country including State University of New York – Buffalo, University of Pittsburgh, Case Western Reserve University, Johns Hopkins University and University of Akron.
The major in mathematics is administered by the Department of Mathematics, which also offers a program in financial mathematics.
