Teacher and Actor Certification Conference

This exciting conference provides comprehensive instruction in the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique. Upon successful completion of three one-week summer training modules, and other assignments during the year, participants will receive a certificate from the Great Lakes Michael Chekhov Consortium at the University of Mount Union granting certification as a Teacher or Actor of the Technique. Each participant is evaluated by GLMCC faculty who recommend which program is most appropriate. Participants may also initially choose in which program they wish to participate. The conference is taught by theatre professionals who are certified in the Michael Chekhov Technique. Participants will gain an understanding of the principles upon which Chekhov's teachings were founded and will participate in exercises designed to help them experience the techniques firsthand.

• Participants should have some experience with the work of Michael Chekhov.
• Participants should have an interest in using the Technique in their own acting and/or teaching.
• Participants should be willing to work in an ensemble environment.

Dates: June 5 and June 6 

Payment Deadline: May 1, 2021.

Cancellations made on or after May 12, 2021, are subject to a $50 nonrefundable fee. Cancellations must be made in writing. No cancellations will be accepted after the program begins. The University of Mount Union reserves the right to cancel any program that lacks sufficient enrollment, and all payments will be refunded. If you are unable to attend, you may arrange to have a substitute attend in your place.
