On Saturday February 17th, the Association of International Students (AIS) held the annual International Dinner. Although usually held in November, because the president of AIS was studying abroad in Japan during the fall semester, the club decided to postpone it until spring. This year’s theme was A Night Under the Stars and featured constellations and their significance across the world.

Mount Union students, international students, faculty and staff alike were able to engage in a cultural exchange through various dishes such as fried catfish, an African American soul food; tonkatsu, a Japanese fried pork dish; Spanakopita, a greek spinach filled pastry; and Mousse au Chocolat, a French chocolate mousse that was served inside of a cup made of chocolate, which was a favorite of all the guests.

The night was filled with laughter, games, quizzes, folk tunes played on an accordion, an encore piano performance, and a member of the crowd who spontaneously asked to sing a Spanish song. Overall, the dinner was a hit, and AIS looks forward to holding next year’s dinner and seeing students and faculty enjoy culture from around the world.
