Gretchen Schuler ’96 to Present 2019 Mount Union Commencement Address

ALLIANCE, Ohio — The University of Mount Union is proud to announce that Gretchen Schuler ’96 will serve as the speaker for its 2019 Commencement exercises on Saturday, May 18.

Schuler is currently the vice president for insurance risk management at Invacare where she manages Invacare's global insurance and corporate social responsibility programs, as well as North American product liability claims and litigation for all Invacare products. She is also the current chair of the Audit and Risk Management Committee of the Mount Union Board of Trustees. 

Schuler earned a B.A. from Mount Union and an M.A. from Cleveland State University and is accredited by the Insurance Institute of America as an Associate in Claims and an Associate in Insurance Services. While at Mount Union, she was a member of the women’s soccer team, Alpha Delta Pi and Student Senate in addition to serving as the senior class president. 

Schuler has also been named the Citizen of the Year from the city of North Olmsted, Ohio, a recipient of Mount Union’s Young Alumni Award, and a “40 under 40” recipient from Crain’s Cleveland Business.
