Presidential Scholarship Program

The Presidential Scholarship Program awards a full tuition scholarship to eight students annually. Presidential Scholars at the University of Mount Union are leaders in the academic setting, among their student body, and in the campus community. This prestigious designation provides students the opportunity to represent Mount Union and exercise leadership skills through a variety of immersive experiences.

Please read the information below for scholarship eligibility, the application process, and timeline.

  1. Eligibility

High school seniors who are eligible for the Presidential Scholarship include those who have been admitted to Mount Union with a GPA of at least 3.85 combined with a minimum ACT score of 28 or SAT score of 1300 are eligible to receive one of Mount Union’s full-tuition Presidential Scholarships.

  3. Presidential Scholarship Recipient Awards and Benefits

    Presidential Scholars Receive:

    • A full-tuition Presidential Scholarship to Mount Union. The awards are based upon the tuition rate each year and are renewable for up to a total of four years (eight semesters), provided the recipient maintains a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
    • Automatic acceptance in the University’s Honors Program and the opportunity to participate in special Honors activities and events.
    • The opportunity to participate in future Presidential Scholarship programs as hosts and members of interview teams.
  4. Policy for Multiple Merit Awards

A merit-based scholarship or award is offered without regard for financial need. Students who may be eligible for multiple Mount Union scholarships and awards will receive at least the value of the highest scholarship or award.

Consideration that is given for any portion of a second scholarship or award from Mount Union will be based on financial need and will require that the student file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The maximum award equals full tuition; students who receive a full tuition scholarship are not eligible for additional Mount Union scholarships or awards. All University scholarships, awards, and grants are coordinated through the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Following the NCAA Division III philosophy, the University of Mount Union does not offer athletic scholarships. The University does award scholarships and financial aid for student athletes on the same basis as it does for every other Mount Union student.

Visit the Financial Aid Handbook to read more about out policies and guidelines for student financial aid at Mount Union.
