The University of Mount Union has a long tradition of preparing students to be compassionate and caring citizens, which is the foundation for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This direct-entry program, accredited by the Ohio Board of Nursing and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, provides students with the academic, clinical, and professional excellence necessary for success in this in-demand field.
I love when students come back, after years of working as a nurse, and share their stories and experiences. It is exciting to see how they have grown into caring, responsible professionals.
Director of Laboratory and Clinical Experience, Nursing
I chose to start teaching at Mount Union because I felt like the direct entry nursing program really allows me to start students thinking like a nurse from the beginning of the program.
My favorite part of teaching is when a student has their "ah-ha" moment and the concept that you've been working on in class, lab and clinical finally clicks.
My twin brother, Josh, and I graduated together in 2018! It was a very cool experience to go through nursing school with him and to share these life experiences.
I always encourage nursing students and new nursing alumni to remember they are trained to be a healthcare professional who provides the best care to patients as well as be critical thinkers.
