Mount Union is helping me to improve my knowledge, to understand how to teach in an environment, culture and language different from mine, which enriches my wisdom and gives me experience

Location

Hometown: Zarautz, Spain

How did you learn/hear about Mount Union?

My university in San Sebastian has an agreement with Mount Union. I live at Mount Union with the other assistants and it makes us a small family, the closeness and friendship of the students, the confidence of the teachers in us, the opportunity to go to the events and be part of the clubs, and the opportunity to be a part of the student's lives.

Biggest Impact on Campus

The first influence to help me was Professor Courtad since he is the Spanish teacher and the one who trained me to help in his classes. Another person who was a reference for me was Julian Shonk, the German teacher since I was taking classes with her last year and it was important for me since it had been a long time since I had studied anything. Finally, Kelly Stout, I went with her on the trip to the Dominican Republic in Spring Break that is done in the Social Responsibility class, thanks to her my experience there was very good throughout the semester when we were in class.

Advice to Future Students

Mount Union, not being a large university, is easy to find your place, and your friends, to have the closeness and interest of the professors, to attend events, and the warmth of the place.

Goals

My intention is to be a teacher and to be able to practice it in Mount Union is helping me to improve my knowledge, to understand how to teach in an environment, culture and language different from mine, which enriches my wisdom and gives me experience
