My favorite part of teaching is when a student has their "ah-ha" moment and the concept that you've been working on in class, lab and clinical finally clicks.

Why Nursing

I chose nursing because I had my first child at 19, and I was so in awe of the labor and delivery nurses that I left the hospital with a newborn and a big dream of going to nursing school. I also always wanted to be a teacher, so with Nursing Education, I can do both careers that I really love.

Caring Department

The Department of Nursing really cares about our students and their successes. We want every future nurse that we send out into the field to be the best nurse they can be. I really love the small class sizes and getting to know my students on a more personal level. This allows me to really provide personal guidance and advising specific to the student in their situation, which being at a larger university wouldn't allow.
