Intriguing Profession

As I progressed through college, it became clear to me that I was always meant to be a teacher. I had such great relationships with my teachers in college and I respected them a great deal. As each year passes, I become more confident that it was the right choice. Most students consider writing a weakness. Breaking down the myth that some people are just good at writing and others aren't and
replacing it with the truth that good writing is the result of hard work is a rewarding challenge.

Interesting Research

I love professional writing and rhetoric along with the intersection of writing and technology. Therefore, I have studied how technology and technology interfaces mediate writing situations, and I incorporate that into both my First Year Seminar (titled "Is Technology Making Us Stupid?") and all my professional writing courses in some way.

Welcoming Community

During my job interview and campus visit, Mount reminded me of the kind of school I went to as an undergraduate, and it just felt so comfortable and familiar. The people and culture integrate themselves into your identity; you become Mount Union.
