Experiential Learning Opportunities

I have worked an amazing internship with the Alliance Country Club. I was given free reigns to lead their marketing department. I crafted a marketing plan after running a full SWOT analysis and also designed a schedule for implementation. This amazing opportunity was made possible, thanks to professor Joel Evans. The most amazing part is this internship was able to count for college credit as well! In addition, I would love to work in sales for the NBA! UMU is preparing me by cultivating a culture of connection building and giving me real, relavant job experience through my 3+ years leading our Mount Union Call Center.

Advice to Prospective Students

"Just say yes." If I had a quote to live by it would be that. My most impactful opportunities and blessings have not been the result of my efforts. They were not things I knew I would enjoy. I simply took a chance on an opportunity and said yes. The thing people won't tell you about saying yes, is the more you say it, the more you hear it as a response to you. Take those chances, try new things. Go be great. This is the Mount Union Way.

Impactful Faculty or Staff Members

Doug Henry was my first huge help when I got to campus. As the years went on, I bonded with Casey Tonn and Mike Gregg. Now, I would say my boss, Lexi Klobusnik. I'd also say Chris Painter (UMU alumnus) and professor Lori Braa. While he is not a faculty or staff member, Chris introduced me to Dr. Braa. Professor Braa told me about the sport business major and I was hooked instantly and decided to add it as a major.
