Transferring to Mount Union

I have a friend that attended Mount Union that finished with her teaching degree. She highly recommended the school. After looking into the program some more and doing some more research on the school itself, it looked like it would be a good fit for me. So, I made the decision to transfer schools after learning about Mount Union's nursing program, which is highly ranked. I prefer smaller campus-size universities because they allow students to gain one-on-one time with professors as well as running into familiar faces anywhere I am on cammpus.

Long-Term Career Goals

As a nurse there are many paths one can pursue, but I specifically, am looking at pursuing a career as a nurse practitioner in anesthesia or dermatology. Though, I look up to my mom's career as a nurse as well as my cousin's because they love their career. I want to help patients recover and become healthy while enjoying what I do. The medical field encompasses passion centered on care, and I love assisting others!

Adapting to Long-Distance Relationships

The biggest obstacle I've had to overcome since transferring is being away from my family. Living in Ohio and only being able to see my family back in Washington during breaks is difficult but at the same time, flying back home is something I look forward to. As a first-generation Armenian American, not only does my family mean a lot to me, but I want to make them proud of the person and professional I am becoming.
