Transferring to Mount Union

I transferred to Mount Union because my other school was not for me. When I visited campus, people were amazing, and I felt so welcomed! I knew that this place was for me, with its beautiful campus and many organizations and opportunities that students can take advantage of. I knew a few people who attended the university, and they had nothing but nice things to say. The deciding factor was how amazing and helpful the staff and students were. Faculty, staff, my advisors and bosses along with everyone that works to keep the University progressing are what make Mount Union feel like a second home.

A Career in Public Relations

I chose public relations as my major because it allows me to learn how to make a company look presentable and professional. It is a combination of business, communication, and marketing courses which allow me to gain a perspective of the real world from different concentrations. My career goal is to have my own company and Mount Union inspired me to come up with ideas to present to a panel of judges; I expanded my skillset by stepping out of my comfort zone doing this. Without Mount Union's help, I would never have let my creative side spark and help people.

Experiential Learning

I've held a public relations internship where I was able to engage and learn from professionals in the field. I've also had the chance to go on a mission trip to Savannah, Georgia with the University chapel. Going on the mission trip taught me things that you don't learn in school. I was able to see life from the perspective of those less fortunate than I. It was an eye-opening experience.
