175th Anniversary | Co-Curricular Activities

Since Mount Union's inception, there have been myriad teams, clubs, and organizations on campus that offer opportunities for students from all walks of life to get involved. These co-curricular activities can supplement the Mount Union academic experience or offer outlets for niche groups to get together around a common interest.

In our 175th year, Mount Union now has nearly 90 student organizations and 10 intramural sports, not including the varsity cheer, dance, and esports teams, or the several band, choir, or theatre ensembles available to all interested students who qualify.

The best memories I have of UMU come from my involvement in extracurricular activities. Over my tenure as an undergrad, I was actively involved in multiple student organizations, including Sigma Nu, Raider Programming Board, Young People Matter, and perhaps most importantly Raider Student Media (91.1 FM WRMU, The Dynamo, and Studio M). While part of RSM, I discovered my love for radio and video production and thus lead to 4 years of amazing opportunities. I served the organization in multiple leadership roles including Program Director/Co-President, served on behalf of RSM as a Student Delegate to the UMU Board of Trustees, attended and presented at several national student media conferences, became a national award recipient, and was a founding member of UMU’s Football Livestream Team. Because of my involvement with RSM, after graduation I landed jobs as the Advisor for UMU’s Football Livestream Team and as the Technical Director and Media Program Coordinator for EN-RICH-MENT Free Fine Arts Academy for Underserved Urban Youth in Canton, Ohio where now I’m teaching students in my own media classes!
