Why Pursue Grad School at Mount Union?

Mount Union has always felt like a second home to me. As an undergraduate, I experienced the University's close-knit community firsthand, and I knew from the moment I interviewed for the PA program that the faculty genuinely cared about their students' success. While I was a student-athlete, I learned the value of discipline, resilience, and teamwork, which are qualities that continue to benefit me in PA school. I participated in research in both exercise science and chemistry, which sparked my interest in evidence-based medicine. My involvement in FCA gave me a supportive community that encouraged me to grow in my faith and leadership. These experiences not only prepared me for the challenges of graduate school but also deepened my appreciation for the Mount Union community.

Becoming a Physician Assistant

I've been interested in medicine from a young age, and I've always wanted to pursue a career where I could make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. The physician assistant profession provides me with the opportunity to combine my love for medicine with my passion for serving others. Before starting PA school, I had the opportunity to work as a personal trainer, and one of my most memorable experiences was working with a woman of the Alliance community. Watching her gain strength, confidence, and independence over time showed me how meaningful small improvements can be in someone's life. Building that relationship made me realize how much I enjoy getting to know patients as unique individuals. I truly look forward to forming connections with my future patients.
