Small Class Size, Big Opportunities

I really liked the idea of having such a large professor to student ratio, since I came from a very small school. I was really impressed with the engineering program here. It’s such a new program and had a very good job placement for their graduating engineers.

Strong Connections

My favorite thing about mount union are the connections I’ve established with the people here. In the future, I know I can count on most of the people I’ve met here to still be active in my life as references and support.

Adjusting to College

The people who really helped me adjust to campus life were my professors and my fraternity brothers. My professors helped teach me good study habits, they were very lenient and would help guide you if you did something wrong. My fraternity brothers helped me adjust to the social side of campus, whether it would be going to events on campus or just hanging out at the house.

Advice for Future Student

Develop good study habits, and join Fraternity and Sorority Life. You will always be stressed out if you don’t have good study habits, regardless of the college you go to. And joining Fraternity and Sorority Life is such a great way to help give back, while having a second home when you need it.

A Second Home in Sigma Alpha Epsilon

Nothing is better than having such a close knit group of friends that you can call your brothers. Being able to hang out with them and attend community service events really makes it feel like you’re a part of a family.

Choosing Civil Engineering

I love the challenge, and I love working with my hands. I grew up on a farm, so being outside and working hard aren’t foreign to me. So I wanted a job that I could match that experience with. I also really like to see how and why things work the way they do.

Benefits of Liberal Arts

Liberal Arts helps to teach people how to combine arguments and understanding with hypotheses and facts. When you add professional preparation, this teaches you how to apply these skills into real world life applications.
