Impactful Features of UMU's PA Program
One of the most impactful aspects of the Mount Union's PA program is its intentional curriculum. The faculty designs it so that medical concepts continuously build on one another. This progressive approach reinforces students' knowledge and helps build confidence in our ability to think like a clinician. Another aspect of the program that has made an impact on me is our professors. They're always available to answer questions, review a concept, or give you a pep talk when you may need it!
Real-World Experience in the Medical Field
Before starting my journey Mount, I worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including student assistant at The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, patient care nurse assistant at University Hospitals, patient care assistant at Wilce Student Health Center- OSU, mohs surgery and general dermatology medical assistant at Apex Skin. What stuck out to me through all of these experiences was the connection with patients that I built and the ability to make a difference. Both in life and in the medical field, you never truly know what others are going through. So, even the smallest of gestures can have the biggest impact on others.
