Choosing Mount Union

My brother and aunt went to the University, so I have always been familiar with Mount Union. I was truly drawn to the university when I learned about the dance program here, which I received a scholarship for in addition to the Founders Scholarship. It’s also a beautiful campus and I love how close it is to home. The welcoming atmosphere of Mount Union makes it feel like a second home, along with the people and close connections I have formed here through my courses and extracurriculars. The best advice I could give students looking at colleges and universities is to keep an open mind and notice where you feel you can be the best version of yourself at because it might not be where you initially intended.

Aspiring to Educate

I chose primary education as my desired major because that’s all I’ve dreamt of doing since I was young. My mother and grandmother were both educators, so it has always been a huge part of my life. Having the opportunity to help shape young minds is something I look forward to every day. My ultimate career goal is to become a Kindergarten teacher. The School of Education here does a great job preparing candidates with ample amounts of field experience starting as early as freshman year.
