Impactful Faculty in Biology

One faculty member who has had a significant impact on my Mount Union experience is Dr. Mercer. As my advisor, she has been a valuable source of guidance and support as I have explored different career paths and worked to determine my future goals. She has always been willing to answer questions, offer advice, and encourage me throughout the decision-making process. Having someone who genuinely cares about my success has made a meaningful difference in my college experience.

Real-World Opportunities

As a future physical therapist, Mount Union has given me opportunities to gain a skillset to be able to help patients and step into the healthcare field with confidence. Conducting experiments, research and data analysis in labs has allowed me to practice over and over. Traveling abroad to Germany with a group of students and faculty at Mount Union allowed me to experience a new culture, learn from different perspectives, and step outside of my comfort zone. While I have enjoyed the hands-on learning in my science courses, my trip to Germany was my favorite experience because it combined education, travel, and personal growth. It gave me the chance to build stronger connections with other students while creating memories that I will carry with me forever.
