Alumnae Influence
Stephanie Donley ‘18 and Micah Donley ‘23 both told me that Mount Union becomes your family - they added that faculty and staff set you up for success, making sure you do succeed. The love these alumnae have for Mount Union made me want to visit, and when I did, I loved it and knew Mount was the university I’d study at!
Impactful Staff Member
Darrell Gaitor. He has motivated me by helping me plan ways to improve my time management and connect with others. He has given me advice useful for the challenges college may throw my way: just go with what happens; you can't change certain things; you can only move forward. He pushed me to go bowling with the bowling club, where I met one of my very close friends, Estrella. Darrell always helps me regardless of the situation. I am involved in so much as a student, and this would not have happened had I not spoken with him.
Experiential Learning Opportunities
During my first year, I created a game in an engineering class. The game was for EGE 120, and it was a group project with three other students who helped design and build it for our competition at an engineering expo. I am using my AutoCAD and SolidWorks skills to help a classmate design his project for Stark Tank. This is giving me the opportunity to develop communication skills by talking with clients and discussing timelines. It is helpful for my career because it’s giving me experience turning clients' thoughts and ideas into tangible results.
