CLASSES

Due to extremely cold wind chill conditions anticipated for early tomorrow, undergraduate classes for the morning of Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the University of Mount Union will not be held in-person but may continue remotely. Undergraduate in-person classes will resume at 12:30 p.m., at which time forecasts predict a rise in temperature.

While the extended forecast shows continued cold temperatures later in the week, wind chills are not expected to be as severe as those predicted for tomorrow morning. Therefore, the campus community should plan for in-person classes and activities for the remainder of the week.

Undergraduate In-person Classes
In-person morning classes for undergraduate students are canceled, but learning may continue in an online format. Instructors with classes should contact students via email with details about how their courses will proceed. Students are directed to contact their instructor with any questions.

Graduate Classes
The continuation or cancellation of graduate classes is at the discretion of individual program directors. Graduate students should consult with their faculty member or director if they have not yet been contacted.

Online Classes
All classes regularly offered online – undergraduate and graduate – will continue as scheduled.

Labs and Clinical Placements
Students in special classes, such as clinical rotations, student teaching, laboratory courses, and internships, should consult with their supervising faculty member or director if they have not yet been contacted.

STAFF

Staff should report to work on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. In accordance with the institution’s Inclement Weather Policy, employees must report to work or use accrued but unused vacation, personal time, or a floating holiday to complete a full workweek. Staff may also make up hours missed within the same workweek with the approval of their supervisor, or may have the time charged as an absence without pay.
