ALLIANCE —  The University of Mount Union presented its annual faculty and staff awards and recognized members of the campus community for their years of service to the institution during its annual Employee Recognition Ceremony.

Four faculty awards were presented during the event. The Outstanding Adjunct Award went to Debbie Fedyna, lecturer of education. The Distinguished Faculty Award for Teaching went to Dr. Tomás Barrett, associate professor of exercise science. The Distinguished Faculty Award for Scholarship went to Dr. Chanda Coblentz, associate professor of education. The Distinguished Faculty Award for Service went to Dr. Jim Kadlecek, professor of sport business.

Three staff members were also recognized for their contributions to the University. The Outstanding Administrative Award was given to Casey Casper, director of new student and leadership programs. Jessica Bates, human resource and benefits specialist, was presented with the Outstanding Staff Award. The Outstanding Physical Plant Staff Award was given to Rachelle Gerback, mail center coordinator. 

The University also honored its retirees, who dedicated more than 100 years of combined service to Mount Union. Those individuals included Regina Shellenberger, housekeeping supervisor; Lin Wu, professor of biology; Patty Kuhn, executive assistant for university advancement and Margo Miller, professor of art.
