Mount Union Investment Team Takes Home $2000, Two Victories at National Competition

ALLIANCE- Four Mount Union students participated in the annual G.A.M.E. Forum competition in New York City hosted by Quinnipiac University. Advised by Dr. Amber Hunt, associate professor of finance, and supported by Joel Evans, assistant professor of marketing, students presented research based on financial issues, which placed them in first place in two categories.

The G.A.M.E. Forum is a student-led conference focused on financial issues and research. Hosted by faculty in the management department at Quinnipiac University, students who attend can connect with people in the finance and management world to gain a real-world experience.

Thomas Domanick ‘24, James Finch ‘25, Ethan Gengarella ‘25, and Robert Musser ‘25, won 1st place in undergraduate growth and in undergraduate small fund presenting on their stock investments.

James Finch ’25, finance major, worked alongside his classmates to prepare the presentation on the students’ Hilliard and McDonald stocks. Explaining that paperwork and digital materials for their presentation needed to be submitted before the day of, Finch and his partners prepared a poster board as their visual aid to help discuss the steps to improve their stocks and overall growth.

“Upon graduating from Mount Union, I’d like to work as a financial advisor,” said Finch. “This experience helped me realize that the finance world is large therefore, there is opportunity for endless learning.”

Filled with competitors and businessmen and women, Finch and his peers were able to expand their network systems, interacting with possible employers.
